Dr. Christine L. Kiang was born and raised in the Washington D.C./Metro Area. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and hiking. She is passionate about advancing the field of physical therapy in helping people who experience varying levels of pain improve their quality of movement in life so they could quantitively improve their ability to enjoy life and participate in the things they love with minimal to no pain. Her individualized treatment approach centers around addressing the cause of the pain and working with those under her care to eliminate what may be contributing to the individual’s source of pain.
Dr. Kiang received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marymount University in 2008. Upon completion of her degree, she worked at and received extensive manual therapy mentorship training in an outpatient physical therapy setting from 2008-2010. In 2012, she went on to complete and received her advanced Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy certification with IMPACT by Jim Meadows which focuses on osteokinematic and arthrokinematic joint corrections. She continues to pursue further advanced manual therapy and functional movement training to provide a holistic approach in treating Sports, Orthopedic and Neuromuscular conditions with an emphasis on correcting and improving mechanical faults and movement patterns in individuals with acute and chronic pain conditions. Dr. Kiang went on to complete her Neuromuscular Taping Certification in 2014 and further went on to get her Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist certification in Dry Needling through Myopain Seminars in May of 2018.
Dr. Kiang has extensive experience in working with individuals with complex orofacial and temporomandibular joint pain issues, migraines and headache issues, postural instability and hypermobility, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and unresolved pain issues related to acute and chronic orthopedic and sport-related injuries.
